Reactivity Loop
A pattern where one partner's reactive behavior triggers a defensive reaction from the other, creating an escalating cycle of tension.
An example of a reactivity loop is: one partner withdraws due to fatigue, the other misreads this as rejection and complains, which causes the first to withdraw further. These patterns run automatically once established. Breaking them requires one partner to pause, recognize the cycle, and choose a different, calmer response.
